GP Team: 3 GP Partners and 1 Salaried GP
Due to the retirement of our longstanding Practice Manager, William Street Surgery in Lurgan is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and organised Practice Manager to join our friendly and dedicated primary care team.
We are an established GP practice caring for approximately 5,500 patients, with a clinical team consisting of three GP Partners and one Salaried GP, one Practice Nurse and a Health Care Assistant and an admin team. We are looking for a Practice Manager who can provide effective leadership and day-to-day management of the practice, while working closely with the GP Partners and wider practice team to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality patient care.


The Role

The Practice Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective running of the practice, providing leadership across the administrative and operational functions of the surgery.
• Managing the day-to-day operations of the practice.
• Working closely with the GP Partners to support the strategic and operational development of the practice.
• Providing leadership and support to practice staff.
• Managing staffing, rotas, recruitment, appraisals and staff development.
• Overseeing practice finances, budgets, payroll and expenditure.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant NHS, regulatory and employment requirements.
• Supporting the practice with clinical governance, risk management and health and safety.
• Managing practice policies and procedures and ensuring they are reviewed and updated appropriately.
• Liaising with the HSC Trust, GP Federation, local healthcare organisations and other external agencies as required.
• Supporting the practice with contractual requirements and relevant GP practice targets.
• Overseeing complaints, significant events and other practice governance processes.
• Monitoring practice performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Ensuring the practice maintains a high standard of patient service.
• Supporting the implementation of new systems and ways of working.
• Managing premises, equipment, suppliers and external contractors.
• Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring appropriate information governance at all times.


About You

We are looking for someone who is professional, approachable, organised and proactive, with the ability to manage a varied workload and work effectively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
Previous experience in general practice or primary care management would be highly desirable. Experience of NHS processes, practice finance, staff management and regulatory requirements would also be advantageous. This role might also suit someone who has worked at a senior level in a GP practice or other other healthcare setting and is looking for a different challenge.
